Scratchpad Raises $33M in Series B Funding on Demand

SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ScratchPad, Inc.., pioneer and leader of the revenue team workspace, today announced that it has secured a $33 million Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to $49 million. Existing investor David Sacks’ Craft Ventures led the preemptive round with continued participation from Accel.

Scratchpad’s Revenue Team Workspace has quickly established itself as the gold standard for software that makes salespeople happy and helps revenue teams produce more. Over the past year, Scratchpad has attracted tens of thousands of users (vendors) and thousands of companies, including Algolia, Allstate, Chilipiper, Ironclad, Pitchbook, Quora, Sendoso, Segment, Talkdesk, Twilio, Udemy, Upwork, Vanta, Vidyard and Suite. These organizations have adopted Scratchpad to manage their sales pipeline, take and share notes, work on their tasks, plan with their managers, facilitate transfers between teams and collaborate more effectively with their revenue teams.

“When you’re on the board and you see a company continuing to beat its forecast, you have to be a little dense not to ask if you can invest more,” said David Sacks, co-founder and general partner of Craft Ventures.

“We didn’t need to think twice: Craft has been an incredible partner since leading our Series A round a year ago and we appreciated the opportunity to go further together. We developed real trust and alignment, so the process for this cycle basically took place over three text messages. We are excited to deepen our partnership as we continue to build the premier workspace for the revenue team and solidify our leadership in this rapidly growing category,” said Pouyan Salehi, CEO and co-founder of Scratchpad. .

Sales reps are overloaded with technology and tools like CRM software, call recording, email sequencing, note taking, and more. Yet most reps still use spreadsheets, docs, notes apps, and general-purpose task managers to get their jobs done, then suffer from hours of manual data entry to update their CRM to their managers. Revenue teams literally pay their reps to do administrative work instead of revenue-generating work. Worse still, the data quality in most CRMs remains poor and adhering to sales processes is for most a dream.

Scratchpad is the only solution that truly consolidates the tools used by sales teams into a single, unified workspace for the revenue team, instantly connected to Salesforce, including: spreadsheets, task managers, chat, collaboration on transactions, sales notes and pipeline management.

“Scratchpad’s product has fueled their rise as one of the fastest growing bottom-up sales tech startups. Their high adoption, user engagement, and customer retention reflect the value they bring. to businesses,” Sacks added.

What customers say

“With Scratchpad, we were able to drive desired behaviors and get key insights with CoM + MEDDPICC + Forecast inputs to help build predictability, and our team didn’t need to undertake a change management effort because sales reps were already loving using the product One of the examples beyond better context on deals and adherence to our methodology, Scratchpad was launched to help our AE and SDR teams collaborate on call management together outbound and territory – Joe Morrissey, Former CRO, Segment

“Good operations teams need to figure out how to make selling easier for salespeople and enablement is about providing the training, guidance and coaching needed to make sales teams truly effective. When you have an operations team and an activation team that have sold before and had an element of seller empathy, it’s a no-brainer to buy Scratchpad. – Jonas Taylor, GTM Activation Efficiency, Lattice

“Scratchpad helps us move opportunities through the pipeline in a more efficient and user-friendly way than what AE was trying to do before with Salesforce alone. For them, Scratchpad is actually fun to use, which makes them want to move their deals in the pipeline. If Scratchpad was removed, I think people would be rightfully upset. This is how sales people will interact with Salesforce in the future at almost every company.” -Victor Schwenoha, GTM Operations, Vanta

“I’ve been using Scratchpad since my last time at Mixpanel, and it’s my favorite part of our CSM/RM/AE tech stack. Like the rest of the world, I’ve used Salesforce for years and always had the felt like it was a bit cumbersome to interact with and a management requirement, not a tool for customer-facing users. Scratchpad has totally eliminated those rough edges into a core experience that I love.” – Zach Bates, Senior Customer Success Manager at Mixpanel
