City accepting grant applications for water quality projects


EAST HAMPTON, NY – East Hampton Town is once again accepting applications for water quality improvement projects.

This is the second round of applications this year for those seeking funding from the portion of Community Preservation Fund funds set aside for water quality projects.

The second application window for 2022 opened on Wednesday, with proposals due by 4 p.m.
August 1.

Projects eligible for funding range from efforts to improve wastewater treatment to pollution
reduction and restoration of aquatic habitat, city officials said. Specific information and the full “Request for Applications” can be found on the city’s website here.

The city’s Water Quality Technical Advisory Committee established the semi-annual process for applicants seeking a grant.

Once the application window closes on Aug. 1, all applications received will be reviewed and assessed by the committee and recommendations for awarding grants will be presented to city council, officials said.

“East Hampton City Council encourages any eligible organization or property owner interested in improving our water quality and protecting our precious lakes, harbors and ponds to apply for this opportunity to fund a specific project,” said Peter Van Scoyoc, Supervisor. of the city of East Hampton.
