BlockSec Closes $8M Seed Plus Funding Round

BlockSec, a New York-based blockchain security startup, closed an $8 million Seed Plus funding round.

The round was co-led by Vitalbridge Capital and Matrix Partners, with participation from investors Mirana Ventures (Venture Partner of Bybit), CoinSummer and YM Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its research and production team and provide on-chain monitoring and attack interception capability to more decentralized applications.

Founded in 2021, BlockSec provides a blockchain security platform that improves the security of decentralized applications, detects high-impact blockchain vulnerabilities, and blocks sophisticated security attacks. The company developed a real-time on-chain monitoring system to block ongoing attacks and rescued over 5 million assets, including 3.8 million for stablecoin DEX Saddle Finance. Since last year, the system has provided security auditing services to over a hundred customers, across the Solidity and Rust ecosystems.

Also, flash loan monitoring system and transaction viewing system are two public tools widely used by the blockchain security community.
