2 Alexandria Organizations Receive LRAC Grant – Alexandria Echo Press


ALEXANDRIA – On March 15, the Lake District Arts Council awarded eight arts organizations $20,194 in funding for the LRAC Spring Project grant cycle.

The Lakes Chamber Music Society of Alexandria and Alexandria Community Education were among the winners.

The Spring Project grant had a cap of $3,000 and was intended to fund productions, exhibitions, artist tours and school residencies. Projects funded through this round of grants include jazz and choir concerts, a Native American beadwork class, two Prairie Fire children’s theater residencies, bringing the traveling Lakes Area Precious Plastics Lab to the Thorson Memorial Library in Elbow. Lake, and more.

Other winners include: Kicks Band of Fargo Moorhead, Browns Valley School District, Underwood Community Education, Fargo Moorhead Choral Artists, Act Up Theater of Moorhead and Thorson Memorial Library of Elbow Lake.

The round was quite competitive, with seventeen candidates. The next opportunity for organizations to apply for the Project Grant will be in the fall of 2022.
